Yes, I know. I grew up with cats. :) I'm actually planning to ask not only that the potential new kitty gets along with other cats, but has a particular personality type. Babe is a very nervous kitty, though she's getting better. Basta was very calm (not necessarily sedate - she could be playful - but not nervy), and served to calm Babe a bit. That may or may not work with a new cat, depending on how they settle the power structure out, but it's worth trying, anyway.
