Long day.

With very fun rp at the end of it, though. Relaxing is good.

Sent two documents off to the site in training, answered a couple questions from there, loaded in some msising data. (How it got to be missing, I don't know. Gonna have to check that and fix whatever made me miss putting it in in the first place.)

R. got his first bug fixed and checked in, and we only yanked the rug ou from under him once (It does X and Y - where X and Y are inconsistent. We said 'change X!' and then we said 'no, wait, change Y!' Argh. He rolled with it nicely and got to read two sets of code for the price of one, though.

Tomorrow he'll be on a fairly straightforward behavior problem....

...in one of our most complex programs. Lucky him. We have two more lined up, one in the same program. If he makes it to the third tomorrow, I will be very impressed. (On the other hand, he'll learn that program....)

R.-who-is-visiting talked w/me about some stuff, I need to write a bit of code for that.

Added a few more dribs and drabs to operator profiles (actually that was earlier in the day).

P. got a couple more fixes checked in. Also got a bug-report from a client site; looks like a fix we made a couple months ago didn't take. He resurrected it, checked it in, and I moved it in at the site. Here's hoping that tomorrow I hear that it worked just fine...if so, we'll move it in at other sites before they get affected hopefully. :)

I dealt with a bug report from the same site that one came from. This one was more user error, though. Yes, if you enter a record saying that 'A' is located in 'B', and you don't enter a record for 'B' at all, it won't work.

Last week, I had a great white-light idea for how to solve a particular issue without having to write any new code. Generalized, realized it was useful for a number of situations, rewrote it, and sent it to our marketing specialists in this product to reference. *beams*

Helped get system up and connected appropriately to other systems (demo/test environment, so didn't spend a lot of time on it). Answered questions from J. about a build being done.

Talked with my former supervisor about a fairly substantial change he was checking in. I like it. It makes everything a lot cleaner with a particular set of error trapping. Why didn't we do this at the outset, again?

Helped people with the bug-tracking system (who worked for me, yes).

Gah. It sounds disjointed, and it felt disjointed. I wanted to do so much more, but I was tired, and kept getting sidetracked, and this evening I had no focus at all.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Tomorrow after work will not be a good time to get work done, however. Scott and I are going to go see Lord of the Rings, if showtimes at all work out.
