Yay!
Okay, so it's a half hour after I meant to be ready for bed. But the bills are paid, the bags are packed (and I confirmed my carrying will contain everything I'm trying to jam into it, but only after dumping a lot of things into checked baggage - two books and my spare outfit. I'm not happy about that; I prefer to have a full change of clothes in my carry-on in case they lose my checked luggage. But with the new restrictions, any time I travel, one bag + one person item (used to be two bags and a personal item could creep through). When I travel on business, my laptop becomes the personal item and everything else (including my purse and digital camera) must fit in my backpack, which serves as my other carryon.
One of these days I'm going to get a "real" carryon sized to just barely fit their regs, and use that instead of the backpack. In the meanwhile, though, it's a juggling game...and an annoying one at that. I'll be wearing business-suitable clothes on the plane, though, so it's survivable. And they have never lost my luggage, and only failed to deliver it with me once. (It wasn't lost; they knew where it was: it was on its way back to my point-of-origin since I hadn't arrived with it. See, it had gone out on a flight earlier than mine - it was full, but not overweight. My flight was delayed due to mechanical failure, and I arrived in Portland about, oh, an hour or hour and a half after my luggage had taken off, headed back the way I came. And that was when I was coming home, at least - not outbound!) So I have pretty good luck, here's hoping it holds.
Dishes are put away and the ones that accumulated while running (plus the glasses that wouldn't fit) in. My flight info's available to my parents, Scott has a copy, the laundry is in the laundry basket (folding? I'd still be up at 11!).
All that remains is to take out my contacts, set the alarm for 5:00 am, and go to bed.
Oh, yeah. And logging out. Night!
