The past couple days, general notes....

My side is feeling much better. I can feel it's just a little stiff every now and then, but no longer painful.

Our shelves came in, sooner than I expected (yay!). So now all we have to do is get the bookcases all put together and up and we can put the shelves in. I picked them up on Friday on the way home, and got annoyed at Home Depot; because of my side, I asked them to load them. I shouldn't have. By the time I got to the loading area, all the loading personnel had disappeared. The lady in checkout said there were four, and paged for one to show up. 15 minutes later, four guys showed up with a forklift and a bunch of cement mix heading to the other car in the loading area. Two of them immediately turned around and walked away, once it was out the building doors, so I hassled one of the other two into loading the shelves.

When I got home, Scott wasn't around, so I unloaded them after all and had no problem. This wouldn't have worked so well there, however, because the guy who got them out of the holding area for me had dumped them in a cart so they were at a truly awkward angle. If I'd made him correct that, I could have done it and gotten away a good ten minutes earlier at least....

So much for helpful services. Yesterday, I got the laundry done. I was debating doing the backyard (I'm annoyed at the lawn service; I asked him if he could spray something that would kill the weeds but not the grass, but the grass is dying too - this is not regular grass, so I am not entirely surprised - but I have more extensive cleanup work than I'd intended now). That was about when the rain, which had been going all day but had paused for a bit, came back - complete with a single, booming crack of thunder.

I stayed inside. I'm not that stupid. So I have that work, or the start of that work, to do today. This should be "fun". Yesterday I finished describing an area for a game. We used it in a scene last night, so that was really pretty cool.

Also, one of Scott's friends locally is running a GURPS game on Tuesday nights. I just gave up my ability to take any classes on Tuesdays, which is fine by me - I'll be in it. I'm waiting to see if he likes my first character choice, as I wanted to create a custom race. He was okay with the quickie notes on it, so I sent him the full template. This would be such a neat character, if so.

Now...hmmm. I probably ought to go get on something suitable for yardwork, honestly; the weather's being nice.
