Mmm. Well, so much for the Gardens, but a good day so far otherwise....
A lingering after-effect of the snow, I think, but I do not know. The road down from the Zoo to the area where the Japanese Gardens are was closed. I could, of course, have gone around by several other routes, but I don't know them so well and didn't feel like swinging clear into Portland and back up, so I skipped the gardens. I think it may have been the snow simply because, up there by the zoo, it was still very much in evidence and the arboretum trails often still iced; and the road down is twisty and moderately steep at times, and in any case not driven as much as others.
Did the shopping I'd meant to on the way back (whoo, contact lens solution and socks!) and stopped by the library. I returned the three Green Knowe books I'd read, and the Katherine Kurtz, and picked up five more waiting for me (all of which are due in four weeks). I haven't any active holds now, which is probably just as well, as I imagine I will be something like a Christmas-season flight after this - OverBooked.
