Dear Brain: Knock it off.
Deliberate parodies are funny. Non-deliberate ones can be.
And then there's "tired, so as you are singing this new song you love, I will just eff up in horrifyingly amusing ways and drive you nuts."
Knock it off.
For those wondering, the victim is a line(s) of the chorus of Talis Kimberley's "Queen of Spindles." The actual chorus is in part:
And love will seal my lips to every murmur
For silence was the witch's best advice
And love will heal my hands of every blister
...
Etc. And my brain (and mouth, in the grocery store, but no one appears to have heard/noticed) has so far tossed out:
And love will heal my heart of every murmur....
[New cardiac treatment holds promise, film at eleven....]
And love will heal my hands of every murmur....
[Strange disorder occurring in people using sign language....]
Dear brain: I repeat, KNOCK. IT. OFF. I haven't known of this song long enough to find these half as amusing as they are aggravating. My singing may not be performance level (and in fact, as I don't work at it, it almost certainly isn't), but I do enjoy it. When I am able to actually sing what I meant to, at least!
