Book

I heard about The Martian a while back. I finally got around to getting a copy. Oh my word. Why did I not listen to others and read this book sooner???

The one wise thing I did was start reading as soon as I got it, while the couch was being professionally cleaned this afternoon.

Because if I'd picked it up about now, I'd have been up half the night finishing it. There's no WAY I'd have put it down in the middle.

I have never had a couch professionally cleaned. Never thought of it even. I think I am a dinosaur. We now have a lazyboy couch and double recliner but they are leather. Mainly because of the dogs, and they have been great.

I never have before either, but it was get it professionally cleaned or get rid of it, probably. An entire thing of grapeseed oil in a microfiber "suede" couch is beyond reasonable home cleaning, and rancid oil isn't what I want to sit on. :P

I picked up a copy to bring along on my backpacking trip. This is the first real book I have bought in ages but the tablet's battery just would not last 6 days. When did they start making paperbacks these weird sizes? I don't like it.

Trade paper format has been around a long time. I don't like it either - but I'll live with it for this book. :)

I read this over vacation and it was entirely enjoyable. It was hard but I had to force myself to put it down at times so I could make it last. It was a little weird reading it out in the middle of nowhere in the wilds of the Grand Canyon because sometimes I feel like I am all alone on another planet.
