Free To Eat Chocolate Chunk Brownie cookies; steak; roasted brussel sprouts; Opal McGhie's floating pudding (must be made with appropriate substitutions, and yes, I have a sweet tooth, why would you ask?), New England clam chowder (again, must be made with appropriate substitutions).

Clam Chowder... you mean cream of bacon soup with clams? ;) (That's what damiana calls it... )

Olive oil, salt (ideally the pink stuff, fresh-ground), a little bit of pepper. And a whole lotta heat.

Clam chowder. I mean that tasty stuff that is the One True Way to make it, not the weird thin something-or-other with tomatoes for goth's sake.

I like'em both, though I have come to prefer the creamy stuff since I've been out here.

Does a spoon remain vertical when immersed in the soup? Then it's thick enough. Not so much with cornstarch as with chunky ingredients. :)

Ahhhh. But that would be a stew! Clam chowder isn't a stew, it's a chowder, which is between stew and soup. There has to be enough broth for a bit of drinking and a bit of bread-dunking. :)
