Saw your post on accents in LJ_art, surfed your journal and noticed reference to Tigard. I have also been victimized by Christmas time traffic on 99/217. I keep forgetting not to leave my office after about December 4th. Good luck with the laptop - sounds like an epic.
Not sure if it's comforting or not that our reliance on emergency services may be subject to your ability to tweak Windows XP.... :-)
Hehehe. Thanks. And no worries - I have a nice, stable desktop at work, and I still have the old laptop till I get this one working.
Which is starting to look, finally, like it will be soon. ;)
And...pity me: my best commute route (best even at this time of year!) takes me through the I-5/217 interchange. Though it does avoid 99. Honestly, I think 99 is worse than that interchange, which is really a scary statement in some ways. ;)
