Yes, yes, I loved it. So shoot me.

Hopefully today, I will:

  1. Go to Home Depot with Scott to show him the shelves I like. (And maybe go to Lowe's to see if they have anything better, which I didn't do yesterday because I missed the exit for Lowe's and didn't honestly expect to find anything....) [Scott has a game today. Guess I do this tomorrow. I hope.]
  2. Pick up a box or two and some sand for some decorative projects I have in mind. I know I don't have the sand, and a quick review of my various craft and fountainmaking supplies reveals nothing suitable either. Pity.
  3. Document January 2002 for the stuff I'm writing up.
  4. Take a walk in the rain.
  5. Get some more cleanup done in the craft room.

Yeah...I need to actually start, y'know, making fountains with the fountainmaking supplies again. I have more bowls than pumps, but that doesn't hurt anything till I've used the pumps. I'll get more then.

The craft room is, really, right now, just a disaster. I've never had it properly set up, but I'm trying to get it there. Right now its main purpose appears to be to keep the crap I'm not using from spilling over to the rest of the house. *guilty look*

That's really cool. I've never heard of making fountains before, although I suppose someoen has too... I guess I never thought of it as something people do at home. You'll have to take pictures and post them in an entry ;-)

One technique is here. The Indoor Fountains sells supplies and fountains, so you can see some more possibilities. Some of what they sell requires skills I don't have, though (metalworking expertise, for example...).

I haven't done these in a while, so I don't have anything to take pictures of (I tend to give them away, and the one I kept for myself has me deeply dissatisfied and wanting to redo it right now). If I get there, I will, though.

Ooooh! That's really interesting. I should try it sometime... I love fountains but I've never ended up buying one for some reason. I'm lost as to why you need pieces of PVC piping in the bottom in no particular arrangement, but *shrugs*

*chuckles* It's their way of achieving the goal of having a supportive 'base' of something that does -not- fill the entire lower space (which should largely be occupied by water) but -can- hold weight (such as the rocks that will go over the screening that will protect the pump). There are other ways of achieving the same goal. I've never used the PVC pipe method, but I'm tempted to try it, as it chances to be easier (if more wastful) than most of the rest.
