Mmmm. Roleplay. And other whatnot.

Game tonight. First Tuesday night game in almost two months that actually happened. (We were below the necessary number of players every other session.) It rocked. We had a combat scene, a discussion with our next contact that could have had some combat but didn't, and an encounter with a flash-bear that could have ended as a combat, but didn't. Each of the three PCs whose players were present got to be "the" person in one of the scenes, though I admit the guy who was most showy in the combat scene wasn't as critical. (It's hard to say that with a straight face, since he kept my character from getting attacked while she was failing to make her rols.) He also got a cameo in the hallway when we set off the trap: he kept our leader from going into the trap. (My character was the first to react. Alas, her quick reaction was to grab - and miss.)

Other than that, got some new code to actually do 80% of what it's supposed to do (up from 10% yesterday morning, 20% this morning) by finding the issue that was blocking some stuff. Need to do some tests to make sure that one piece can go in as-is, but otherwise quite pleased with it.

There was much drilling and hammering and cutting in the lab today. (The half-height wall was found to need more bracing to pass inspection, so drywall is being cut away and reinforcement added, then they get to put all the surface-y stuff back in and paint over it, whee!)

I managed to read the first couple chapters of The Dragon of Despair last night. I then managed, far more impressively, to put it down and go to bed. I haven't gotten to read any of it today. It's on my lap. I'm going to bed. I can read it tomorrow. Thus far, though, it makes me want to read. It's not so incredible (2-3 chapters in) that I can't put it down, but I do rather wish I could afford to stay up late reading it.

Network was out at work this morning - in-office network was okay, everything past the router was untouchable. About 10 or 10:30 we could get down to the main office (EMAIL!), but not out to the 'net (no VPN in or out, web pages, etc.). By noon we had everything back and they'd found the issue (there was a rumor that it was a virus but I was told it wasn't, so...).

The weather has been gloriously, beautifully stormy. I'm so so so enjoying it. And yes, I'm going to bed now. Honest.

We're finally getting rain here after almost six months of nothing, which is rare for Vancouver...

Glad the game was good, and it sounds like the fame and glory got nicely spread around. It seems to me that that's something which should happen every game session, but I think it takes some really balanced storytelling.
