You know, I'd promote that ljmaps meme...

...but the program and server are a buggy, overloaded, piece of junk. It drops people in mid-ocean randomly (which happened to me) or Alaska (which happened to others I know aren't there). I set it on Oregon and it showed me there - then the next time I looked I was in the ocean.

How helpful. It's a cool idea; it's a lousy execution. I'll spare you all the aggravation of being linked to it. In theory you can update your location, but it's so overloaded you can't get in to do that. It's not nearly amusing enough for the aggravation. :P

I just added myself to [livejournal.com profile] canyoncat's map and I noticed you up in Alaska. So far I have stayed in Oregon. I added myself using the lat/long method.

How do you do that? I used the click-on-the-map. I didn't see anything else - not that I know the lat/long here, but I'm sure I could learn approximately what it is easily enough.

I followed the 'Add' button from his lj entry and it gave a me a page with the option to set by lat/long above the map. Now when I follow the link to the site, I don't see that. Strange....
