Contractors. Oy.
Yesterday's estimate went well, overall pleased with it, may go with them. Today's estimate didn't. Never mind that they came in over the other guy and will not do as much work. He also spent all the time trying to hard-sell us, all the references are for his company and not him as this is his first year doing this (but he shoved tons of references for other people's work at us), the guarantee is not as long, the...oy. Enough said, just oy. He kept telling us the same things over and over about what his company does that makes them superior, once is plenty, honest.
And then he wants to know how we feel about the thing and whether we think we'll go with him, and when I say we want time to think about it and get back to him, he says, but I want to know how you feel now. My response was "pressured".
He totally forgot about going over the colors with us, which I ignored, because by then I just wanted him out of the house. Then on the way out, he wanted to know when he could call us back to follow up and I told him we would call him and let him know either way.
Pushy.

The two webcomics I can think of that I love a lot and you don't read are Clan of the Cats (which I'm starting to not love a lot, but)and Malakhim.
If it's not either of those - a bit more info about the comic?

Can't FIND it on the site.

Okay, I just assumed it HAD to be an agami - wouldn't be a strip. Sure enough. It was the dragon I remembered, tho....

I forgot it was attached to the dragon, and my browser window was too small. If only I'd scrolled...
Thank you thank you!!

We're not running anything actually based on Kabbalah. I just needed something mystical that gave me an excuse for lots of glowly lines, that would work as an 'alternate reality' generator (based on, specifically, the meanings you used). This is just an online AIM thing between two people goofing off, not for public or published.
If you'd rather I not, though, I'll use standard. That site looks very interesting for my own use, so thanks again.

(Anonymous) 2004-03-29 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)We rearranged things a little and distributed them differently because to us the universe is just put together differently. One person put it, "Yeesh, do you think God needs so many different ways of saying he's smart?" We drew more primal, vital forces, which we assigned to the Bene Elohim-- and instead of treating the space as a void, as they do with Da'at, we used it to indicate the imbalance from which our creation-myth is drawn.
Using it to play around between friends is totally keen, although we're not into the idea of people making MU*s out of it or that kind of thing. Hadn't really crossed our minds when we thought we'd toss a heads-up your way. Just found out it was being referenced as the Tree of Life and thought we'd warn you that it wasn't one you could find anywhere else :) The symbols are our own design as well.

Always a bonus.
And I really, really like the landscape company we went with. I KNOW they are busy, but they knew the contract was coming in and they must have kept something open, because when they got it, they were right out here. It looks so much better, and they haven't even added the fresh plantings or replaced the dead tree (they did, however, remove it).
