Parents!

My parents were by just a bit ago for gift exchange and chat. It was lovely. We gave them a calendar and a gift card and a stocking of treats for the cats (mostly food goodies but also two toys, one of which amused me terribly - a fishing pole with a catnip fish on its string). They gave us gifties including one which upstaged everything else - the horse bells, jingle bells, I loved when I was a kid. They were my grandfather's and they sound so sweet, as well.

They also gave us a small gift which they said was for dealing with the Homeowner's Association. It proved to be chips for several of the most brilliant, eyeblinding non-earth-tone colors I have ever seen in my life. They're quite pretty, and highly humorous, and no, I would not want a house any of these shades.

Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, or Joyous Winter Holiday of your choice.

I'm ashamed I didn't think of this until halfway home.

But if you don't have another use in mind for that stocking... it'd be a great repository for sleighbells, betweentimes.

Enjoy the peace, once the noisy celebration is over.

Depending on the number of paintchips they got you..

You could make one very interesting abstract art picture with them to hang up somewhere to be reminded of them. ;)

That's me and my weird brain though. :)
