...you know, I was originally interested in going to this reunion.

High school reunion. Ten-year reunion. I've not seen most of my classmates in all that time, and I wanted to go. Once they figured out what it would be.

I wish they'd made it something else. Dinner and dancing at some fancy restaurant on Saturday; and then from noon until three the following Sunday, a family picnic on the school grounds (lovely area, really). 'Please bring a dessert or side dish to share.'

Okay, so far that's not awful. However. If I want to go, I have to pay $50 ($95 if I want to bring Scott along). They didn't separate the events; if they had, I'd go to the picnic but not the dinner, as I imagine that's the bulk of the cost and I don't like dancing.

I dunno. Maybe this is normal and I'm just a spoil-sport. But that doesn't sound worth $50 for both of us, let along those prices.

I would be with you on this one and want to go to the picnic but not dinner and dancing thing. Maybe you should contact someone and find out if it's possible to do the picnic alone?
