Woe. Woe and humor.

First the woe: the light above my desk is out. It is a gray day outside, very pretty but the light is still low at this hour. It's like sitting in my own miniature half-cave. (The other side of the office, where L. works, is well-lit.) This has been reported and will be dealt with, but it's interesting to me to note that a pressure behind my eyes seems to ease when I look up at the more well-lit spaces. (Strange, because I shouldn't have eye strain going here - I'm staring at a backlit monitor, after all.) I told my boss that today I was apparently more in the dark than usual! ;)

Today's page-a-day calendar entry (which is not bad English, as the calendar is supposed to be, but is quite funny in my opinion): "A resolution to install two new fire hydrants was approved by the council. The resolution followed a report by the police department that the dog population during the past year had increased by 26."

Last night during the game, Babe (our fraidy-cat) was hiding in the upstairs hallway. But we'd asked our guests to use the restroom up there, because Basta doesn't climb the stairs any more and the litter box downstairs is in the half-bath. So Babe had a steady stream of people. As it turns out, she may not like crowds but she doesn't mind visitors - she was mugging for petting, and one of them sat down and acquired a lap-full of cat! Hehe.

[Er, found you through the whole LJ-Down-Drama-Rama Entry]

You work on CAD systems? BLESS YOU!

As a police dispatcher in Florida, I can appreciate how effin' complicated that must be. I'm just blessed to have something that simplifies my job.

Thank you for your work. I'd be willing to bet that the people using your CAD systems are grateful. :)
