Sorry I am still behind in replies. I am trying to catch up! It has been a very busy week coupled with my allergies/sinuses/whatever-the-heck acting up. (I'm not convinced it's allergies at this point, though it could be - I think the sinus crud has settled in for the long haul. I'm trying decongestants, but if they fail as I expect them to, I'll have to see the doctor in case it's a sinus infection. I'm not sure it is. I think I just may have a really tenacious cold. Which is about the last thing I want - the other two options being easier to medicate away. Alas.) It would also be nice if I were getting a full night's sleep and waking rested. Maybe tonight; I think I'm going to go to bed early, which might help.

I want my desktop back. I do not have my music (the laptop can't play music without overheating, assuming I can convince it to produce sound at all, which Windows Media Player cannot be bothered to do). I do not have World of Warcraft (the thought of the laptop trying to run that is laughable). I do not have the development environment for where I am learning C# and taking the online training (also C# at the moment, though there's other stuff) for work. (And the laptop doesn't care for the rather heavy-load pages used by the online learning, even if it had anywhere for me to practice, which it has not.)

I use the laptop for email, LJ, and web browsing that doesn't involve flash, video, etc. I really want my desktop back. I was told I should hear before Friday (possibly as early as Tuesday, which obviously did not happen) what the damage is. I'm sure the power supply's toast, based on how it acted. What I don't know is what it took with it when it went. And if it took anything with it, particularly the motherboard, it makes more sense to replace the computer than fix it.

I am really impatient to hear about that and get that computer (or its replacement) back in place. What good it will do, since my brain is fried by tiredness and whatever allergy/cold/bug/whatever-the-heck it is I have, I can't imagine. :P
