I think, in fact, we may get some flakes that aren't forecasters. They may not hang around, but we might. We had everything but yesterday afternoon.
Several of my coworkers saw snow on their way in yesterday morning, but several of us (me included) did not. Probably depends on exactly where and when you drove in. It was not sticking at lower elevations but apparently it was at some of the upper - I'm sure it all melted off that afternoon, though. Or maybe not.
As I left work that evening, I got hail. It was too firm to call it sleet, even though it was above freezing out. It melted after it hit, of course, but it was still there. That turned into actual sleet, which I drove through most of the way to my first stop (had a couple quick errands to run). When I came out it was rain. Nonetheless, I got hail and sleet. Needless to say I did not, even though the freeway traffic was icky, cut across 65th (which goes up).
This morning, my radio station just said it's in the "20s everywhere" and then proceeded to give a rundown of current temps that included 31 degrees for Portland. Hrrm.... There's frost on the lawn and the cars. And there's ice on the I-5 to 217 flyover ramp, which they reported because it caused an accident. So, I think I shall be paying close attention and not taking any of my shortcuts this morning. (One is a minor street with a couple bridges; the other, as stated, goes up. Fairly steeply, too.)
Oh, goody. It's slippery enough at an intersection I normally drive through that it got mentioned on the radio. They've also sent the deicing trucks (main reason it got mentioned), though. Ah, well, by the time I get lunch together and actually go, they should have that sorted out. I think I'll take the long-flat-major-road route, but that intersection is part of the best route, so...glad they found that before I got there! :P

Alas, it's either that or no snow, though. More's the pity. I really would have liked some.
