I wonder if I should call the local zoo and report the herd of elephants which has obviously escaped, and is presently hiding out in the unit on one side of mine.

Well, okay, the renters of that space are late-teenage/early-twenties boys. BUT, moving around their upstairs hallway and/or down the stairs and/or around downstairs, they sound so loud it seems like they are in my apartment. The first time it happened - days ago - I thought Scott was running about upstairs for unknown reasons and went upstairs to find out what was wrong. He was peacefully asleep.

Yes, I know, noise carries. But for contrast, my neighbor on the other side has an organ - electric - in her dining room. Our dining rooms share a wall; the organ sits against her inside wall, not the shared one. On its lowest volume setting, I can only hear it if I press my ear to the wall, and my apartment is absolutely silent. Trust me, it's not that quiet in her apartment.

I can't even hear my radio on its normal setting upstairs, never mind outside or when I'm visiting her apartment. Sound just does not carry well between these units.

Yet I can hear the Herd Of Elephants thundering about their place.

At least they don't get up early. I have yet to be woken up by their stomping about, that I can recall.

And a company I'm glad I don't work for! Check out why in this entry, which also includes a link to the original article on the news-site (in the comments).

Wow. What an ineffective day. I got up late. I ate a few of the plums. (Mother, do you know how many plums that is? Eeek!)

I interviewed and hired an assistant build-staffer for Ashes, which is very cool. That was maybe the most useful thing I did all day, honestly. A brief scene on Ashes, which sorta didn't work so well, unfortunately, because I confused someone OOC.

Let's see. Hung out with friends. Chatted. Read web pages. Re-read a book (from the middle on). Started to bead a flag, ran the thread through itself by accident after a row and a half and shredded it, gave up for the evening on the basis that I was far too irritated by that simple mishap.

Glanced at the "Book of Lists" for the Northwest Gardener. Coupled with another book or two I have, this is gonna be useful once I start using it; but I didn't, I just glanced through it.

Took some photos, in an effort to get another shot or two for user pics I probably won't use. Speaking of which, what do you think of this one? Kitty!

Ahem, okay, so I'm easily amused. At any rate, I seem to have used up my day on these things.
