The subject may not be amusing (or maybe it is), but I quite liked the way it was presented in this Discussion on the SSSCA bill.

On the other hand, my other link of the morning is not funny at all. More on the current terrorist/conflict situation, in this article about a sick contest advertised via a Pakistani a paper. At least they shut the paper down and arrested the owners....

Came home early yesterday because I wasn't feeling well, but not feeling sick this morning, so it works.

Justice? Or just anger?

The more I see of the news, the less I like it. All this talk of evidence, and we refuse to offer it. It may have been Iraq, Israel's intelligence says.

The US government is focussed on bin Laden, like some vast group of predators mad with bloodlust. Maybe he's the right target - but if he is, if you know it, if you have evidence....

...then why are you not dealing with it in that fashion? We don't need a holy war.

Ours, or theirs.

My job.

You know, I spend a lot of time whining about the day-to-day hassles of my job. And the expectation of miracles. And they're there, and they're annoying. But that's hardly the only side; if it was, I'd have made good long ago on my occasional threat to move on to greener pastures. (Though probably not, despite my grumbles to that end, to shelving groceries.)

( So what is it that keeps me there? )

Speech.

Do I applaud, or do I fear? Do I simply cry?

He's rising to the occasion. And I'm scared.
