Getting ready for Halloween. Much fun. Much difficulty, trying to find things I forgot to find yesterday, but not critical things, fortunately.

I'm debating skipping Spanish class tonight. I slept poorly again last night; it's Halloween; and I just don't want to go. We'll see how I feel about reading the article and going tonight, though.

Today...

...is going to be memorable.

I look silly. This was the goal, and I still feel self-conscious. I have green eye-shadow on, reddish brown lips, and a bright blond wig. A very curly, short bright blond wig. My nails are painted a deep red.

From this, one would assume the rest of my costume involved a dress, probably something fake-fancy. It doesn't. It involves a monk's robe.

See, two years ago, one of our project managers (male) came as a nun. With a day or two of stubble, no less. So when there were no modest costumes for women this year, my eyes lit on the monk's robe, and I thought, why not reverse it.

Actually, this wig looks even sillier when not covered by a hood, so it wouldn't've worked for anything that didn't have one, anyway.

I look...absurd.

I really hope my coworkers appreciate it. I don't get down and weird often. Next year, I'll either come as a monster, or as a programmer. (Running joke in the office: too darned many people dress up as programmers and businesspeople each year.)

Le sigh.

The people who came all dressed up last year, and complained that there weren't enough people dressed up last year?

Aren't dressed up this year. Hmf. So far, I'm the only one I've seen in a costume yet. I know two others are planning to come dressed up, though.

Yay, costumes!

J. came as Alice. As in, the computer game Alice, with a butcher knife and a blood-spattered apron.

N. came as "herself in the 1970's" because her leiderhosen wouldn't fit to do her alpine yodeller costume.

The whole effect is very amusing.

Now, to try to get work done through the insanity.

I didn't go to Spanish class tonight. First one I've skipped.

I'm tired; I am not concentrating very well; I have a cold and I feel blah.

I could have gone, but I'd rather not, and maybe that's enough reason.

I'm roleplaying - but the class goes till 9:30, and I don't think I'll be roleplaying that long. Early to bed. Early back to work. All should be good.

Halloween was fun. We haven't had any trick-or-treaters here, and at this hour, I don't really expect that will change. The office party was cool, in an odd sort of way.

Still need to talk to Y about that dog of his. Bet it won't happen till after vacation, when I'll have time enough to formulate what to say without the dog present.

Oh, gods. I hope he doesn't bring it tomorrow, when we have an interview....

Good things

Halloween party was fun, and I didn't feel too silly by the end of the day.
My laptop has been ordered!
I skipped Spanish class, and had a nice lazy evening.
