Scott has a sore throat. So do I. This is not a happy thing. However:

Scott decided he's not going in, and needed to tell his boss. (I'll probably come home early, but I need to get that pager so I can carry it this weekend and next week.)

So he...logged on to Everquest, where he found his boss and was able to tell him, because he was up all night camping for an epic weapon.

Oooo. Now there is a delightful hobby. Sitting around all night hoping for your shot at one thing....

...this discussion of what happened to the wordcount page amused me terribly.

I may survive today after all. My sore throat went away after I'd had a bit of water and some food. Probably side-effect from my cold; that's usually the indicated result if a bit of grease (hash browns, whee!) gets rid of it.

Yay, yay, yay.

Working on nailing task items off my to-do list. One about to be down, one dependent on someone calling me (or, at 11 am, my calling him - but hopefully he will return his calls), one ongoing. Whee! We'll see if I get the test data today or not.

I'm already musing about what I can do to my laptop's setup. I'm so awful. But.... I want my toy! *grins*

For a new process. For a new type of process. For a process my boss thinks (last I checked) we should never do....

But my boss isn't going to be my boss much longer, maybe isn't now, as he technically has a new position, and his boss/my boss/the ex-VP wants it this way, but we'll have a new boss in a month, and....

Gah. What a tangled mess. However, I know this: I think this will be a harder way to train, and I think we must find a way to make it work. I think my process has a substantial chance of working.

However. I have to pitch it to my boss/ex-boss (anything less would be...obnoxious), and then to the trainer (whose time I have to secure for part), and then to the guy who actually asked for it.

And I worry. What if I'm wrong, and it's not enough, and it doesn't work?

Hmf. I'm going to the deli and get lunch.

Talked with friends. Talked more with Avalanche, getting to know her...wow.

Did a little building work on Ashes to Ashes.

My boss liked my proposal!!! He offered a few suggestions, so did the trainer I bounced it off next. Revising, present for thoughts to them and a coworker next Monday, then hopefully straight off to VP, yay!

Code is closer to done.

I have a weekend coming up. Pager, yeah, but a weekend.

Pager went off, I didn't hear it, the thing was on, it was in my pocket, I have no clue how, BUT the call at least wasn't mine so after the ACK! factor the buck got passed....

Now I get to go to bed! That is good too!
