Yesterday, I actually thought I would get the HTML formatting of the query done in half an hour. The universe is laughing: that's my next task this morning.

Mind you, I never got an uninterrupted half an hour yesterday. I was sidetracked from that into a code cleanup (because the wrong commandnames had been checked in, which I sent an email to the tech about, but meanwhile I had to clean up my system because I was working with the subset that was messed up!), and then from that into a needs-a-response-now estimate email, then a flurry of project-related email.

How long did I work on the query before being yanked off, and never getting back to it? 5 minutes. Literally. I love the annoying little factlets you can learn about your work day while tracking your time....

Now, to feed the fish, get my water, and then come back here and work. On the query, I hope.

We switched time-filing systems this month. As a consequence, the whole month's worth of timesheets have to be refiled. That's 5 sheets per person.

There are about 300 outstanding unfiled sheets, mostly people who didn't file any.

On that list are two people who are no longer with the company, because some time in January was their last month.

I dunno, I think that's asking a bit much of them....
