Remind me why I'm so thrilled with this laptop? I can auto-submit error reports to Microsoft...to be ignored. Yay, me.

For the second time in a month, I'm having to run chkdsk because the C:\Windows\system32 folder is not readable. Am I the only one who finds this totally unacceptable?

Meanwhile, I don't have access to a bunch of my work tools, because they're on that machine. Imagine that.

Ah, well. Other than that my morning is starting okay.

Observation:

Steamed cauliflower is delicious. Raw cauliflower is wonderful. Cold, apparently.

Because cauliflower that has sat forgotten for an hour while you chased various issues is kinda icky, really. I think I'll dump it back in the refrigerator for a bit.

Today's a bit hectic, but better than yesterday. Spent hours yesterday chasing an issue that turned out to be that the stuff was installed on an XP machine, but XP is not supported for that software. (I didn't know it was an XP machine until towards the end of this little round-about.)

I'm not sure. I think I'll check their web page. My laptop is a better machine than my desktop - more memory, faster processor, larger hard drive. (Sad, isn't it? The desktop's growing older.)

The only question is, are the video and sound cards (er, chips in this case) up to par? It looks like the video may be in the barely-acceptable range according to Scott, but I think I'd better go look this up and confirm.

Am I really contemplating getting my Everquest fix by installing it on my laptop?

Well, it crashes my desktop almost as soon as it runs (thanks to their "upgrades" I'm now BELOW the minimum requirements - jerks!), so....

Yes. Yes, I am.
