I got up early this morning, intending to get some unpacking done. I hadn't realized how quickly it would go - the boxes and padding needed for the next round of dishes are no longer in use for the last round of dishes.

In a little bit, Scott and I will head out to go to the movie - he works for Hollywood Video, they give out free movie-screening passes. Pity it's not for something like Spiderman, but I've often enjoyed the various children's movies that are the more usual fare a great deal more than I expected. This time it's "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron". At any rate, it starts at nine, but up in Tigard (to think, we used to be able to leave for those 10 minutes beforehand).

I expect it to be out between 10:30 and 11:00 (the movie's less than an hour and a half, but I've yet to meet one that starts at the start-time). Then we go over to the apartment, and pack the aforementioned dishes. By the time my parents arrive, we should have the whole mess ready to load up in segments and good to go.

And in the meanwhile? In the meanwhile, I'm sitting here, typing and glancing at my screen now and then, and watching the pasture most of the time. It's clear, but the pasture is dew-misted, or looks it. The sun is fairly high up, and yet it's cloud-covered, so everything is softened. The greens are still very intense, and the cluster of trees which surrounds and hides the house (that goes to the pasture) are a lovely mix of colors, including several purplish ones.

I have the window open, to let the cool morning air in, and also to let in the bird song. Twitter and cheep and chirp and on and on. There have to be five or six different species calling out there, and way more than that in individual birds, but I've never learned to identify bird calls. Maybe I should. Then again, maybe I'll just go on enjoying the sound without categorizing it.

About to head out for round two of 'moving' for the day: trash to the dump.

Then we can start cleaning the place....

Just wanted to say, my parents are wonderful, the deck chairs and dishes and all are over at the house, and "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron" is only worth seeing if it's free. Pretty movie, really. Incredibly well-chosen sound track.

Questionable plot, and numerous places where my suspension of disbelief precipitated.

Oof. Definitely a children's movie meant far more for children than most these days are. Still, pretty, and free is a decent price, so.

And now, off to deal with trash.

And I'm finally mostly-awake again. It didn't take very long, and everything fit much better than I feared. All that remains at the apartment is cleaning supplies, and an awful lot of cleaning yet to be done, and the stuff to be donated.

Must call about that - tomorrow; it's too late for it, now, today.

Love this house so much. I took a bunch more pictures but, so far, not very satisfied with them. The pasture is to the east of us, and right now it's amazingly brilliant in the sun, except for a bit of shadow from the trees. I love sitting here and watching the birds fly, seeing where the trees weave together by the different-colored foliage (or lack thereof; one of the ones in the pasture across the way looks like it may not have bothered to wake up this year). Beautiful. Not sure what the pasture's used for - no animals, so I'm guessing haying, maybe. If so, I'll have to take my allergy pills religiously come August or so.... And I won't mind a bit. So pretty.

I've been babbling on about the view from the computer room, so I figured it was time and past time to share it. I've posted eight photographs - all of them are from the computer room window, all were taken from my chair or with the camera on the windowsill (which is within a foot of my chair).

Since the window faces east, good morning shots are a bear to get, even though it's pretty then. I'm more pleased with the rest.
