I'm up, I'm at work; my contacts are in, and the water/sewer bill payment was mailed. Last night was mostly a loss - I hung out with people, but we had a fellow over to try to sell us a security system (at our request, and I think he succeeded), and that took a while.

Today would be good - the sky is pale-white clouds and thus everything is soft daylight - except, right now, I have the beginnings of a sinus headache hovering on a point over my right eye. I'm just hoping that the allergy medicine and decongestant stuff will get it under control before it takes over entirely.

Scenes scheduled for tonight that I'm very much looking forward to, and I've work to do that's both useful and something I can accomplish - both definite positives!

[Update: and the allergy medicine took out the incipient headache about a half hour later. Yay!]

Standard is "place names" to name the computers in this office.

R's paired machines are Alsace and Lorraine.

Y's paired machines are Tel-Aviv and Ramat-Gan.

Then there's some of the rest of what we get. I run Sivao and Ennien; M. is running Babylon5.

Heh. Of course, the company-wide standard for computer names has become 'first initial last name' - which is really cool - except when a computer is reassigned, it's a pain. And we won't mention those of us who have more than one computer, right?

Observation: Wilsonville Road to 65th to Elligsen to I-5? Gorgeous route in the am, especially as early as I've been going in.

I-5 to Elligsen to 65th to Wilsonville Road? Um. STUPID idea, during afternoon rush hour. Because all the people who, in the morning, come the OTHER way down the WR and have to make a right on 65th? Now have to make a left off it. And you get to wait for them. Line from stop sign on 65th (not very many feet from the stop sign on Elligsen, hence, line stretches up Elligsen): about 2/10 of a mile.

Moving.

Very.

Slowly.

Must try various alternate routes for the afternoon. Also, wreck on left shoulder, totally of lane? Still screws with traffic massively.

Bad traffic day. :)

I'm scening. I would love to install Dungeon Siege in the background, or else watch the Harry Potter DVD Scott got me.

Except.

The only DVD player in this room? My laptop. Guess what I scene from? Bingo. Plus, it installed its stupid control crap, which DOES NOT WORK. Fortunately it "only" locks up the movie; unfortunately, it locks up the movie. You can take your CD full of games, and your control crap, and shove it up your--

Anyway. Suffice to say, I'm going to find the option to turn that piece of trash off as the viewer and go back to the Windows Viewer that works just fine, and I hate their guts for installing it right now.

Meanwhile, the game? Will work fine on - you guessed it - my laptop. But it won't on the desktop, the machine is not powerful enough.

!amused.

Very !amused.

It's not that I really need something else to do. It's that I want my scene and my new toys, and thus far, my new toys are sucking massively.

Sometimes I really hate "progress".
