I'm up. I'm getting ready to go, now. And I'm still shaking and slightly queasy because Scott scared the hell out of me.

See, the alarm went off at five. It took me a while to register it (as usual) but was still on (not as usual - Scott's good with 'snooze'). So when I finally figured out it was the alarm and not part of my dream, I pressed snooze and reached over to him. He wasn't there. Okay-fine, he sometimes wakes up early.

But he wasn't here at all, nor was his car in the driveway. See, he went over to Dale's yesterday to game, and wasn't back when I went to bed...and still wasn't back.

Cue freak-out attack. I called Dale, and he said Scott had just left ten minutes ago, and he's just coming in now. And I'm not sure I'll let him drive me.

I've touched him, and he's real.

He was supposed to drop me off at the airport this morning, and pick me up on Thursday when I will be very tired from the plane. I know he drives better tired than I do....

...but I've still sent him to bed. He's been up almost 24 hours at this point and the company can eat the cost of long-term parking. If nothing else, if I'm too tired to drive, I can have a friend drop him off so he can haul me away Thursday night.

This is a lousy way to start the trip, though it could have been worse.

Babbling and momentary freaking aside, it's time to pack the laptop away in its case.

Please wish me luck, and a decent trip.
