Okay, the deli wins points. Massive points. Today's been going awful, and they just made it a lot better.

See, since I had to see the dentist today, I didn't bring lunch (I would have brought a frozen dinner, since I hadn't time to make something and the lunch meat I got is awfully nasty anyway), since I didn't want to leave it in the car for an hour and I was stopping at the dentist before getting to work.

I figured I'd just go to the deli. Well, add that to a sinus headache, and I was thinking "soup". Alas, the soup of the day is tomato tortellini. I don't generally like tomatoes! In small doses, yes, but not that much. However....

They had chili dogs. I proceeded to ask if that meant I could order chili, and was told yes. Then I decided I wanted a small soup and a half sandwich, and ordered what sounded good on the sandwich - given chili con carne, I didn't think I needed more meat. So I got cheese/lettuce/tomato/cucumber on a croissant.

She didn't bat an eye, and trust me, that sandwich is nowhere on their menu. But it sounded good, and it is.

I wanted Vanilla Coke. They don't have it, but she made a note of it as something to possibly carry in the future. I added a large (trust me, I mean large) blueberry muffin to my stack for later this afternoon, paid $5, and fled with my loot (including extra crackers for the chili).

The sinuses are much better now. Some of it's probably the second decongestant, but I can't help thinking the hot (more temperature-hot than spicy-hot, thank goodness) chili helped. And I've relaxed a bit and have food in me - which seems to have helped the tension part of the headache.

Have I mentioned that I love this deli? ;)
