Scott and I finally saw the second Harry Potter film today (after-hours cell, over-work, laziness, and my ever-cheerful cold having kept that from happening sooner). It was definitely very good. In some ways I liked the first better, in others this one. That's not a bad balance.

The previews sucked, though. The Lord of the Rings preview was decent, but the rest? Ugh. Film after film after film that sounds like the studios should've just closed and not wasted our time. I really do hate most movies. :P The previews sucked.

Observation 1: Large popcorn + 2 medium drinks gets you a free sour patch bag.

Observation 2: Just because the order you were going to make anyway, entitles you to something free, does not mean you should take it. EW.

Poor Scott. He's afraid of spiders and snakes (as I learned at this film), so a couple of the scenes got to him a bit. (I was fine with those scenes, but some of the screwup moments when someone should be embarrassed in the movie made me cringe....)

It was a good use of a few hours, all in all. I'm glad we went.

And Scott created much excitement for a toddler, who was busy pointing and calling, "Mommy, there's Gandalf! There's Gandalf!"

His hair's a little brown for that role, though.
