Is good. Groceries bought. Walk taken. Went to Home Depot and found bookshelves I can live with - that you can buy extra shelves for instead of having them so frickin' spaced out. They're not tall enough for floor-to-ceiling, but they're six feet tall, which is about as far as I could get books down from without a stool anyway.
So at some point I need to have Scott look at them too. If he likes them, it looks like $300-$400 (depending on how many shelves we want) to finish the library off. That's not horrible when I want many-shelved bookcases running along a whole wall, I guess.
Of course, there are a few "little" problems. Like needing four of the main case, plus a lot of extra shelves. The shelf kits I'm pretty sure will fit in my car. The main cases, at 72 inches high, I am not nearly so sure of - especially if I want to haul four of them. Home Depot will rent a truck, but I'd need it for at least two hours - so I'll probably try to beg my parents for help, if that works out. Dad has a truck that could handle those.
Among the other problems is that it takes two people to safely lift the main case sets. Means Scott and I both have to be around (not going to ask my Dad to haul those, I'm sure he'd have - I hope he'd have! - things to say, since he's had problems off and on with one leg). I'm not sure how heavy they are, but they are definitely awkward, and they're probably not light, looking at them.
Oh, and did I mention that they've got all of seven kits out there, and they come in two colors? I'm not sure if they stock the ones I want or if they'll have to order them.
First things first. I want Scott to look at them. Then, if he likes them, we'll ask what they have in stock, possibly in areas other than the display area. Once we've determined if we want them, if we can get them, and when we can get them, we'll worry about "how do we get them home". In a worst-case scenario, I could always rent one of their trucks. It's $20 for the first 75 minutes, and I don't think we could drive all the way home, unload into the garage, and drive all the way back in that time - but we might be able to. I'm not sure what it costs after the first 75 (they cleverly don't list that on the signs...). Actually, a day rental of a U-Haul might be cheaper. I don't think either will be necessary, though. I hope.
