We hit 95 degrees today. This breaks the record of 92 on June 5, 1978....

Joy. Ugh. Coming out of work into that oven effect sucked. So did the fact that where I parked, my steering wheel got sunlight.

Air conditioning helps, but that's only in the car. The house is doing okay with a breeze, though.

Today at work went pretty well.

It's too hot to think of interesting things to say.

Interview by [livejournal.com profile] cadhla.

1. What started the fountain thing?

I don't even remember clearly, honestly. I think I saw or heard one - back when they were artist thingies, not mass produced, and cost a couple hundred dollars - and I loved it. I love water. But there's no way I'd pay that much, so....

At any rate, I'm very glad I started it. I enjoy it.

2. Have you ever considered cutting your hair?

Yes. And fled in terror every time. I wonder what I'd look like with short hair, but I also know it could take me a decade or more to get it back to this length after I found out. What if I hated it? Even if I liked it, what if I wanted long hair more?

I love my hair. I love the way it looks, the weight of it, the feel of it. I doubt I'll ever give in to the mild curiosity. Trims are all it gets. :)

3. Can you find me more of those little flower clips?

I don't know. I haven't looked. I know where to look for them, but it's entirely possible they've gone out of fashion by now.... They are so, so cool, though.

4. Cats or dogs?

Cats. Always and entirely cats. Although I'm mellowing. I adore cats, I cuddle and pet cats, I will be a cat's slave. But I no longer run in abject terror from the dogs. Darren's kind of cute - sometimes - but he's a pain in the butt others and when he barks I still jump violently.

5. How much do you eat?

Depends. For the most part, I tend to eat relatively small amounts, but frequently. I don't track calories very closely, just the general balance of what's in it. I can happily have a TV-dinner-sized meal for dinner, though, or a sandwich for lunch. (Of course, I'll be having a bowl of applesauce and some cottage cheese at mid-afternoon, but....)

Here's how the meme works: If you want me to interview you, post a comment that says, 'Interview me.' I'll respond with questions for you to take back to your own journal and answer as a post. At the bottom of your post, after answering the Interviewer's questions, you ask if anyone wants to be interviewed. And so the meme continues propagating itself and spiraling outward....

Also, this isn't necessarily part of the meme, but if you want to interview me, feel free. Or Zulaikh. Or if you want your characters interviewed. (However, only characters I actually, say, know enough about to interview....)

Very pleased with LJ tonight. Maintenance had a post about what was going to be done (which I actually saw before the maintenance found its way into the proverbial handbasket). http://status.livejournal.org/ had a blurb that this would be happening, might cause some minor issues, but shouldn't cause outages.

Sure, I found the latter during an outage (which turned out to continue for a while; I seem to be able to access the site now but my client still times out 100% even though everything else is reliable 100%), but so what? My complaint was not warning us of the things they expected not to cause problems. They warned us, so I had a decent idea of what was going on, and that was rather nice. (And they did update it to show that there was an outage, midway through, presumably when someone with the authority to do so also had a minute or two free from trying to make the outage go away.)

And I have my LJ back now. (Mostly, anyway.) This is good. Although ironic, as I go to bed now. :)
