Saturday. Saturday was Too Bloody Hot again, and no surprise there. I got nothing done around the house but I also wasn't planning on it, knowing what the day was to be like and that today was to be much cooler. So instead, I packed up the books I wanted to trade and took them over (being as my car has A/C, this was a very effective strategy). Swapped two bags of books I didn't want for one I did, at a net cost of under $5, and all books I'd tried to resell and failed. I'm happy with that. (Already read one: Wheel of Dreams by Salinda Tyson, a first and only book. It was good, though not spectacular; I'd like a sequel, but as this was printed in 1996, I doubt I'll get one.) Also hit the craft store. There's a dangerous hobby.

Went to the Japanese Gardens and took some pictures, which I may share at some point but haven't gone through and prepped, or even decided what if anything I'd want to put up. I've found that I still like eating peas right out of the pod, too (which has to do with the grocery store stop on the way home, not the Japanese Gardens, don't worry).

That was pretty much Saturday. Today was cooler, as promised, and much more productive. The laundry is done, the dishes are done, the front-yard weeding has been done, the thistle downslope in the back yard has been hacked to pieces. (Tomorrow evening, I'll go out and get the pieces out of there.) Most of the weeds out back didn't die in the least from being sprayed, the little pains. So I am going to have to weed. Well, okay, I'll probably just hoe some of them under (I am lazy and it's a big area to try to control). The under-deck area is annoying me and I'm seriously considering bark mulch, except I don't want to have to get it in there. Bleh.

Other than that, today, I read and roleplayed. Much fun was had on the roleplaying side. And I put up a photo in the latest open challenge at dpChallenge - a digital photography site. I don't know if I like it so much but I'm waiting to see; I like it a bit better than the LJ forums that do the same thing, since it's anonymous till after the voting. I read some more, too.

On Neopets, I now have a Desert Aisha and a Faerie Ixi. They're cute, and yes, I am easily amused. We have plane tickets for our GenCon trip, which means that every piece of preparation needed, is done. Of course, this resulted in my credit card company calling me with a fraud check. I don't usually buy plane tickets on this account, just groceries, so it makes sense but I'm very glad I didn't want the card while they were questioning it.

I should have done more in the yard today, but I wore myself out and I also set my allergies off fierce. (Bright li'l me forgot to take her allergy meds on time. Fixed that, but only after I was reminded of that fact by my reaction to the yard, and stubbornly finished the area I'd set myself to work on, anyway. Fooey.)

I have a necklace I bought on a whim a while ago, at a second-hand shop. It's plastic and brass, but I've always found it pretty. Alas, it's too large for me. A bit of twisting and toying just now proves to me that it could be resized without damage into a necklack and a bracelet. Of course, now I need to find time to do that, but....
