Went to the Japanese Gardens today. It was very nice, but I didn't linger long. Walked around, took a lot of photos (not for the challenge, for which they aren't relevant, but some I think I might not have seen prior to a few other challenges). Left. Very quiet, rather calming. Tried to stop in Tualatin, discovered that I should really learn when local festivals are, got routed around the place I'd meant to stop, and just kept right on going to get back on I-5...an exit north of where I got off, so a nice big loop. But hey, it didn't take too long as such things go.
I have return address labels for my inkjet. (The address labels I bought and have been using are almost gone.) I have the feeling I'm going to regret this as so far my tests (all printed on paper, to see if they line up) have not gone well. One printed in the wrong font, printed 1/5 page and stopped; the next one simply started where it left off, destroying any ability to figure out how it might've looked if it'd been right. Apparently 'cancel' doesn't mean cancel to my inkjet. :P
Then I had one print that took three pieces of paper, staggered, so that it printed part of the page at the top of the first, the next section at the top of the second, and the rest at the top of the third. Augh! I haven't tried again since, as those were also my last three pieces of paper that were loaded in. At some point, I will load more in and try again, but that will probably be tomorrow. I can only take so many defeats by a printer before I need a break to recover. *wry grni*
I finished reading First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain (sequel to Green Rider). This book rocks at least as much as the first, maybe more. This is very promising. It's also huge - over 600 pages. That's one of my two 14-day books down, one to go. I want the sequel already...but maybe not on loan from the library just now. There's a limit to how much even I can read, how quickly, and I'm very near the top of the list for the Harry Potter book (finally). I'm also one of the first in line for another book (by Jane Lindskold) that's still on order. But I still want a sequel, blast it! :)
I'm trying to think what else I did, but that pretty much was my day. Oh, that and I picked up another pack of turkey hot dogs (different brand) on a whim, figuring that I could afford to toss them in the trash...and found this set are edible and taste good. A small thing, but good.
I did no yardwork today, mostly because at 9:30 I realized that (a) I was driving toward the Gardens, (b) I had no claritin with me, and (c) I should have taken a claritin at 9, before I left the house.... I didn't feel like facing the weeds unarmored!
