Morning! I'm actually in a fairly good mood, though by all rights I ought not be. Slept okay last night until what I think were the early morning hours. The weather outside turned to windstorm, and I moved in and out of sleep, waking to the wind rattling along our house. When I slept, my dreams moved through everyday-weirdness type stuff. Scott doing things he wouldn't (and irking me and confusing me thereby); a mother with three young children barging them into our house to use the restroom, then feeding them their cereal in the middle of my floor; someone having slid the bathroom counter left to fill in the empty space, and revealed really tacky, cheap shelving off to the right (the bathroom counter runs the length of the room and couldn't be moved, and the cabinetry to the right is just fine, thank you, in real life); going off to do something and leaving a bunch of bath whatnot checked in at the general "watch my stuff" counter at what felt like a boarding school (not sure - it's wherever I was staying, but didn't tie to anything in the real world that I could find).

Weird dreams. Disrupted constantly so they never finished, as the wind brought me awake. The wind was - is - wild, coming mostly down the backs of the houses and sounding like a fair good storm. It's too dark out there for me to see anything, yet. And of course, waking so often and restless so much, I was aware of the chill far more than I usually am (if I were normally like this at night, I think I would turn the heat up then). At some point I curled up and, of course, could not uncurl after because it was much too cold at the bottom of the comforter. :P

I'm awake. I don't even feel too tired, overall, though that may change later.

...and then I shut down and go to work. The sunrise, a bit after I posted the dark-and-windy-morning bit, was glorious. The clouds stained these rich shades of pink and pink-orange, all afire with it, reaching way way up the sky. Then it drifted into just gilding the clouds, adn now the sky is just a pleasant blue-grey shade.

I think today is gonna rock. And the wind seems to have settled down, as well. I love the wind, but I'm just as glad not to drive in gusts like those sounded to be.

So glad I'm in the lucky group. Power's out in chunks of Vancouver and Portland and other places, but neither at my house nor at the office. Trees came down. One came down on a semi on highway 26. (Things you don't want to hear on the traffic report, just as you turn the radio on: "...one lane getting by in each direction, the rest blocked by a jackknifed semi with a tree on it...." I don't think that was quite the phrasing, but I did hear all that info without the "where" until the end, when they added, "Again, that's on....")
