I had a good weekend - even an excellent one. Four day weekends will do that to you. Two fiction books, the Gardens, downtown Portland - Scott and I drove up the Gorge on Sunday, but we should've waited for Monday to do so, I think - turns out to have been so busy we couldn't stop, as I shoulda realized considering it was one of the first good weekend days of the year.

All that and still had time to deal with contractors, laundry, dishes, garbage, etc. Great weekend. I had a scene yesterday I did not much enjoy by the end, but then followed it up with one that I did. Got some neat new code-stuff done and didn't completely lose my mind under my new role (we had to staff-shuffle, eep).

Now, today, is back to work. The point of a four-day weekend was to give me a bunch of down-time and relax me, and it worked really well. Except.

Except last night, I slept horribly. This rarely happens - I usually sleep very well no matter what! But last night, apparently not! )

I think those are all the reasons I remember. It got worse from about 3:30 on, so I think I got a tolerable amount of unbroken sleep before that, but really, that was not a good start to the week and I hope that I sleep better tonight. That was not a nice trick, thanks, universe....

Actually, the lack of sleep wasn't a problem for the most part and I did fine thru the day. I could not refocus quickly, which was unfortunate. There was an interview scheduled today, when I went on vacation. When I got back there were three - so I kept getting diverted from what I was doing. After the last one, I settled down to my task and was promptly interrupted and asked to do something else. I was most of the way through that review and checkin when I was told that it would not, after all, be sent out until tomorrow so I did not need to rush it. It was easier to finish it than it would be to stop and redo.

This means I left work at just after 6. Ooof. So, at the end of the day I was still tired.... I was going to say I got hardly any development done, but actually, I got the report I was writing to sort. Properly, even. It's true I have to set up other things and so on, but the progress made was good.

Still, decidedly tired. Tonight is a night of doing not-much. I have started a load of towels that did not get done over the weekend and I think dealing with that and vegging is about all I am committed to. Likely will go to bed early, thus trimming my evening on both ends.

But, three more interviews tomorrow. I'd rather be awake for them. And I survived today and was still cheerful even if tired, so....

Oh! And this morning's triumph - we now have airplane tickets to go to GenCon Indy. That will make using the badges and hotel rooms much easier.... (I'd been sitting and waiting to see if they'd have a sale, and they did, so I snagged the rate and then headed off to work.)
