Scott had to go into work today for a few hours, and so the alarm was set for six. I didn't get to sleep early last night, and my sinuses stuffed up overnight, and when it went off I tried for a half hour to get back to sleep and couldn't (even though he was very good about hastily turning it off and getting up). Needless to say, I was neither a happy camper nor very good company.

The day has gotten steadily better in the ensuing three hours, however. I took a decongestant and ate some breakfast, drank plenty of water and then settled down to journal and dream and read for a bit. Then I decided to clean the craft room, something I've been meaning to do but kept getting overwhelmed by. I had a simple goal: clear the path from the door to the storage area, and organize the stuff I casually threw in the storage area when last cleaning up, so that it didn't occupy four times its actual volume.

Within an hour, I had it done. It makes the whole room seem much more achievable. I've organized my paper journals (an astonishing variety) and set up the new radio. (A little $30 portable - which won't be hauled around, but so what? I just want to play CDs and the radio in there. I've got a matching one for the library, as my old portable in there has finally decided it doesn't really want to play CDs.)

I'm listening to John Denver and the rain now, for it has truly started pouring. It's coming down in a glorious torrent, a tiny bit lighter than when I started writing this but not much, a true Oregon spring. This is the weather we should be having, mild, moderately warm, not hot, and soaking - but only at intervals. This is right. This is beautiful.

It's 9:30, and I've gotten things done, and I feel a lot better about my ability to get the rest of that room clean. It'll be nice. It'll be the first time since we got the house that the room has been truly, fully usable (barring before we moved stuff in). If I get it done. But I can, and so I think I will. Not all this weekend, but a bit more this weekend, some next weekend, and so on.

I have a temporary tattoo of a moon and star, in a very girlie style, on my left cheek. For no reason at all, and just because it pleases me immensely. Why it pleases me, I couldn't say; but it does, and sometimes, that is enough.

Waiting on a call-back about work, and doing documentation. Training starts a week from Monday, I'm delivering the training, and I'd like to have my documentation ready for this. I don't think I need to work this weekend, but, if I'm right I can get some of the time back. If I'm wrong, I would really rather not have to work over my four-day not-on-call weekend. :)

Fortunately, documentation is relatively fun for me, and most of this is not exactly rocket science, just regurgitating what I know, same as I will be doing during the class. I just want them to have this to refer to, during and after.

My library already has three copies of Jane Lindskold's Buried Pyramid on order, and I have the second hold. Of course, they also spelled her last name Kindskold. I reported that one to them, trying not to giggle too hard.

Okay, this was a nice break, but back to those documents.
