The sun is out, the birds are singing, I'm awake, it's a good day.

Guess who got to sleep for long enough last night and is therefore not a zombie? Bingo.

Some pretty images from my morning LJ crawl:

Lily pads at the Oregon Garden

Several shots of a very dramatic sky.

And one I first saw last night, because it's pretty.

Bird of Paradise

I mentioned recently that I had seen a bird on my office window ledge, bold as anything and not afraid of me, but didn't have my camera. I have not seen one since (not like that, I mean - I have seen birds since!) until today. Today I brought my camera in, and when I was on the phone, along came a bird, strutting along the ledge.

Unfortunately, he kept strutting on, which did not give me time to get the camera out before he was out of view. And just now, when I was in talking with my boss about what task to do next, two birds went strutting along the ledge by his office. One stopped to puff up and challenge either its own reflection or the back of his clock (which sits on the inside windowsill), one of the two.

And all the while my camera was in the next office over. The birds are taunting me....

I actually got to work on code directly at work today! Reminds me how bloody effective I can be in there. *nodnods* Pleased with myself. Also helped out on several non-code issues. Not my most productive day, far from my least.

I was IMing with a coworker about some stuff going on at the site he was working on when he acked and IMed that a brown recluse had crawled up his leg...he was on the 'net from his hotel room near the client site. All I can say is, I know the site, I know the name of the hotel, and I don't think I want to stay there necessarily....

It was a good day overall. Spent the evening roleplaying - Scott wanted to play City of Heroes and we sat and companionably played games next to each other in the computer room all night. :) All I can say is, we got us some very good players on Eph. 'Twas a fun scene.

And now I admit that typing long enough will not dredge up pearls of wisdom, and that I need sleep. G'night! :)
