Photos....

Whoops! I posted more photos at Buzznet last night, but, I forgot to post anything saying so. These are shots from when Scott and I drove through the countryside around here; one's of the river but the rest are farming-related in some fashion. For the most part, I'm rather proud of them. I updated the Frog Pond gallery with one photo to note the metro decision. If you want to see it, you'll have to go to Buzznet and click to that gallery (go to my main page or folow the link on any photo, scroll down until the right-hand wide column reaches "My Galleries", and follow the link there). It wasn't included in the syndication feed (which, sub-galleries used to be, so this is kind of aggravating, more because I wonder what the folks I'm watching have posted that I do not know about...).

Pop pop pop poppop pop.

It must be almost the Fourth of July, in America, in suburbia. The neighborhood echoes with the periodic sounds of firecrackers, counterpoint to the shikka-shikka of a sprinkler. The air coming through the windows is cool enough now to dispense with the air conditioner, though it was sorely needed earlier. Day has dimmed to night, the sky that deep deep blue that happens right before the very last hint of day slips away. Pop. Pop pop. Shikka-shikka-pop-shikka. Fweeeeeeeeee-pop. Someone got a whistler, I hear.

It's oddly pleasant.
