The weather is insane. We have broken our record high, apparently. I've heard "94" and it used to be "90". My car thermometer was arguing for 96 to 101, but then, I'm sure it was baking a bit too. Whatever it is, it's hot.

I hadn't looked at the thermometer or heard the weather until I was on my way home. I went out to get my allergy shots, though, so I'd been in it. I commented to a coworker (who was wearing a sleeveless top and was quite comfortable in our office) that I had needed a coat in my office to feel comfortable. When I went to get the shots, I left the coat in the office because I knew that it would be hot outside, but I wasn't 2-3 steps outside the door when it was "too hot" and I was overheated. Then, coming back, I was grateful to get into the cool but soon wanted my coat again. So I warned her she was probably going to be very uncomfortable going outside.

She asked if I was sick to react so quickly to the change in temperature. Er, well, I think the office was probably around 65-70 depending on where you were in it, and my job is sedentary. Isaid no ... but now that I know the actual temps, I think she was probably very unhappy when she stepped out the door. Or at least a bit surprised.

Forecast says isolated thunderstorms tomorrow and Sunday. If they take out my power, I will laugh....

Possibly a bit hysterically, but hey.

Now for the AC to actually bring the temp in this room down further. It has it down to 84, though, which is not too shabby considering the outside temps. Just not very pleasant for me either. Time to go find something cold to eat or drink, methinks.
