Link first! :) Beau is one cute cat but the caption Ronni has given to this picture of him is just hysterical, so make sure you read it.

Last night I did not get much done, most of the evening, I was so overheated. Just chatted, browsed the web, etc. But just before bed I did get the bedroom substantially tidied - the AC having made it bearable, yay! - way more so than it has been in ages. Of course, now I have a huuuuge pile of various items to launder, clean, place elsewhere, etc. But it means Scott can vacuum a good chunk of the room today and then I can do some rearranging and it will be much nicer/more usable plus, the goal, hopefully help a bit on the allergy front.

This morning I got up at the usual time because my body thinks I shouldn't be allowed to sleep in or something. So, I have been listening to music, doing a bit of reading; played World of Warcraft for about 45 minutes or so. The library opens at 10 am, the bank closes at 1 pm, so somewhere in there I need to make a run to both. (Actually, I could skip the bank's hours and use the ATM. But, going inside is easier.)

Our town festival is in the park today from 10-5 also. So I'm thinking maybe 10:30 (because does your clock ever exactly match theirs? noooo) going over there. I have to hit the bank by 1, but I could defer the library till after the park and that will make for fewer left turns (none) in the trip. The library closes at 6, so there's no real hurry there. Besides, the book I really want is still in transit. Since last Saturday. I asked on Wednesday and they said give it till Saturday, then report it. So today I get to, as I pick up the poetry books, point out that this (Peopleware) is still in transit and maybe they should start tracing it.... It's the only copy in the system, so I either buy it or I wait, but in either case it was obviously in the system to go into transit, so it has to be somewhere.

Realistically, if I head over at 10:30, I'll be home by 12 or 12:30 anyway. And then...the laundry. Aie. Normal weekly laundry, followed by all the crap that's been sitting piled and not properly put away. (Well, actually only most of it - a few fabric items out of that have special-care requirements that preclude tossing them in the washer.)

My life is so exciting, I know.

Checks deposited. Library books returned, and checked out. Book that has been on hold for a week located still on shelf at library that should have sent it. (I first asked on Thursday, but they wanted to give it a full week since the courier schedule had changed. I'm a bit grumpy about this, really, but ohwell.)

Did not go to park. Well, went BY park. This is the town center park, for those who know the area, sorta behind the movie theater and Fry's, the one with the Korean War memorial. I started my trip out by coming toward the park from the north (movie theater side) since that lined me up for the other two and I could check out parking and decide if I even cared.

I didn't. I oh so very didn't. The street, including reserved parking, toward the park? Full. Park parking lot? Full, except where cordoned off for this shindig. Parking in adjacent shopping area's lot? Mostly full. The first unoccupied space I saw that did not have someone pulling into it was in front of the "in" door for Lamb's Thriftway. If you know the area, you understand why I didn't want to be anywhere in the park. If you don't.... It's probably at least a quarter-mile from Lamb's to the park. And the park? The park is not that large. In fact, it's really rather small....

I cower. In fear. Also, in air conditioning. There are garage sales in my neighborhood today, a gathering in the park that probably violates the laws of physics (and certainly violates the laws of comfort) in how many people it has crammed in to one space, and I think I am trying very hard to stay indoors allllll the rest of today now.
