I've been trying more BPAL scents lately. Most either don't agree with me, or they're nice but I have a better one that smells similar already.

Athens, which I tried yesterday, was a whole 'nother level of bad. I don't think it and my skin chemistry got along. Athens is described as: "A reformulation and modernization of a true Classical Greek perfume, myrrhine: voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers. "

I was dubious about this, because honey doesn't always get along with me, and I don't care for wine (the real stuff, not the scent), so I wasn't sure I'd like this. But - myrrh. And florals sometimes work for me. So I tried it, in the spirit of hope.

Um. Once it hit my skin, it smelled like wine gone bad - like rotten grapes with a hint of vinegar to them. By the time it dried down, it smelled like someone had floated rose and other flower petals, which were also gone slightly bad, in that self-same juice.

It was so bad it was funny. Especially after I scrubbed it off and no longer had to smell it.... (And I never did smell the myrrh either, unless you count a very faint spiciness underneath during the drydown, but it wasn't there wet and it wasn't there dry and I'm still not sure I didn't imagine it.)

Scott and I played World of Warcraft this morning; then went out to visit my parents this afternoon. It was a nice visit, just hanging out and chatting (and petting the cats - at one point I petted Babe with my shoe and she appeared to like it - I was trying not to get more cat fur on my hands at that point...).

I took over a sweatshirt I'd made for Mom. Not the best ever (the iron-on won, evenly transferred but yellow), but I tried. It was made with photos from their trip to Ireland.

Tonight: laundry, trash, and reading. Or rereading; I think I'm in the mood for either Lackey or Tamora Pierce. Or maybe Snyder's And All Between. I'll see what looks interesting (obviously limiting it to what can be found...).
