Yesterday, I went to the pet store to get more cat food. They had Christmas-themed cat toys on sale for Rilly Cheap. Since these two nuts do not care in the least what season it is, I picked up some.
So far, I have just two out. Both come with little elastic strands intended to attach them to...whatever. They're pretty pathetic, actually, only about six inches long which is almost useless.
Unless you get clever. I have attached one to each of the two folding chairs, which we're using for computer chairs until we bring in proper office chairs. It is not uncommon now for me to hear rustling and destruction, and look over to see one cat or the other (but usually Babe) sprawled under a chair, attacking the dangling toy. Since Babe generally only vaguely plays with toys that don't dangle, this is actually very effective at keeping her entertained. (Apple, as we've seen from the videos, would be perfectly entertained by herself in a completely empty room, if necessary. Possibly to the detriment of sanity, but she'd be happy.)
