I drove to work in a haze of grey and a patter of raindrops, steady enough I had the windshield wipers on full. Steady enough that the highway traffic, though it wasn't especially heavy, was not doing the speed limit. Small bits of standing water and the swish of tires stirring it up, flinging it up. Not enough to make a spray or anything; only an inch at most, I'd say. But nice.

It looks still night, twilight and shadow, outside the office windows. The treatment that is supposed to make them block harmful UV makes everything dimmer: on summer days, shadowed prettily. On rainy winter mornigs, turning it all to a blue-purple dusk.

It's gorgeous. It's also wet enough that I actually zipped up my coat and pulled up the hood to shelter from it on my way in this morning.

It may turn to snow, later today, they're saying. There's a cold front moving in. I hope, if it does, it's nice enough not to do it dramatically and ice all our cars up. Heh.
