I have three design tasks on my plate this month. One was a four-hour finalize-this job for today. It's finalized. It's spiffy, with fake 'screenshots' of what it should look like (dummied up by dint of handcoding the html, hee!). Total time? 3 hours, 15 minutes. Go, me, ahead of schedule.
Better still, the interruptions? Aren't interrupting as much. Next design task is scheduled to start Monday, with nothing intervening, to allow for coding questions from my team, technical/feature questions from sales, cleanup and vetting of checkins, etc. All are done to the point of nothing left to do.
I can train M. for when he starts carrying the after-hours cell (soon, soon). And then I can rewrite the after hours document. And then I may still have time to start the next design item early!
