And another site is live. This one has not been quite as smooth but it has not been bad. The machine that was supposed to be our communications server (no particularly special hardware specs but needs a set ip) had power supply issues. (Okay, we turned it off and couldn't get it back on - had to restart due to an install - and discovered the shielding on the power plug where it went into the computer was hot to the touch. That's an "issue"?)
So we changed in another machine for the server. Coupled with a few issues with permissions to update settings, it delayed the go-live, but by less than an hour. The dispatchers seem very happy not to be doing double duty (they were shadowing activity, whenever they could afford to, into the CAD training system while still maintaining it on cards as well).
We started at 8:15, so I even got a full night's sleep. And chocolate. S. (the project manager who's acting as a backup and trainer at this site) got us lots of candy bars.
