And while most of the day was spent travelling, there still managed to be some memorable moments. Coming back into Boise in a prop plane (fairly large for such but, of course, still small) we hit some fairly mild turbulence (of the "your seat just dropped a few inches" variety). Also, that was the flight where the flight attendant made himself laugh so hard with his silliness he had to get off the intercom for a few and then come back.

"In the event of a water landing, your seat cushion may be used as a flotation device. Pull the cushion from the seat, place your arms through the straps on the back, and paddle merrily away from the aircraft."

"This airplane has one lavatory, at the far front, front, right side of the plane. If you come all the way to the back, to the galley, I can only give you a cup."

That airport was so small, security screenings were done in the hallway to the gates themselves (in other words, as boarding started). There are only but 5 gates there and all walk-to-the-airplane anyway. The security people were either paranoid (which I would find odd for this small middle-of-nowhere airport with not even a single jet serving them), or bored to death (far more believable). At one point there were literally four pairs of shoes on the conveyer, being x-rayed.

I did not set off the walkthrough metal detector. I was, nonetheless, wand-checked, had my shoes sent through, my backpack was searched (and they opened the camera bag - bet it was the tripod again). My two coworkers each had a bag searched, though they avoided the Shoe Brigade at least.

That flight was a half-hour late in arriving, 15 minutes late leaving (they turned it around really sharply), and only about 5 minutes late into Boise, which made catching the connecting flight really easy.

There was really nothing of note on the flight from Boise to Portland. It was a flight; it was on-time; it got me home. All of these are good things.

And here I am, and no, I don't actually have anything with more content to say just now. :)
