...though mostly boring. Today was my day (not planned so, just happened) to veg and accomplish not much of anything at all. I did get two after-hours calls from work.
One required me to do a quick dial-in and tweak, the other one just required me to advise the project manager. So, not bad overall, that.
Let's see. I've been descing some spaces for a friend's game (and having way too much fun with it), but today I got very little done. I moved in some useful code and located more, I've stopped to ask about the 'more' stuff to make sure it's desirable before I stuff it in. ;)
I got in two scenes (one of which followed on to the other), which were generally pretty fun, though I handled the second one awkwardly and hence wasn't as comfortable with it. My character does very well clueless, I the player tend to get restless, but it was also my fault for not saying anything. And in the end? It was fun.
I played some games (ranging from Windows Solitaire to neopets), read a little, did a couple drawings (no, not anything I'd care to show, but I am at least keeping to my intent to keep practicing and trying), and...well...melted.
It's not nearly as hot here as it has been for some of my friends, so I haven't much place to be complaining, but I am anyway, I guess. It was pretty miserable earlier, to the point where I dropped an ice cube down my shirt. Literally. Which would have been more effective if my shirt had been tucked in, as it is, I had to dry the kitchen floor.
Laying flat in front of the tornado fan in the hallway is, however, rather pleasant in such circumstances, at least.
Tomorrow, I hand off the cell phone to a team member. Also tomorrow I hope I find the bug I've been chasing. I took the weekend off from it because my brain was going south, but I have some good ideas of where to look. And, since I have only about an hour left before bed, I am making myself not look right now. No sense eating into my weekend.
Somehow, in the move, I seem to have lost most of my favored pens for drawing, though. That's a task for tomorrow: buy more pens. They are not that expensive and when the ones I lost turn up (if they do in a time frame when they'd still be useful at all), well, I go through pens a fair bit anyway.
I at least have enough to work with - a proper thick liquid ink writing pen, two Microns in varying sizes (not nearly as thick/heavy as the first pen), and of course, a mechanical pencil. (You would think that the last would be for roughing things out, initial studies, etc. No, as far as I can tell, it is for losing, because that is mostly what I seem to do with it. I have found it stuffed between the paws of the white tiger plushie that watches over my desk from the low shelf behind the laptop; on the windowsill; leaning against the number keys at the top of my keyboard; and of course on the floor.
Today.
I'm very good at misplacing that pencil. My pens always seem to come to rest back on the desk's surface, like well-behaved writing implements.)
