I got off work at 4:55. So much for "in at 6 means out at 3". Then I had to stop and get my prescriptions (which I forgot until I passed that exit, had to turn around and go back two exits - and then I missed a turn and had to do some fancy work to get back there, I was not tracking well). Got home...well, about 6-ish, strangely enough.
Getting home brought the mail. On the one hand? I got the credit card bill that contains all the latest trips (not unexpectedly huge, but ouch!). On the other hand, I got a post-card from
jillwolf. Thank you, Jill! That was a real day-brightener.
Also, I really got Scott with a smart-aleck remark just now. I got spam asking me if I wanted a second paycheck and I read the subject line out loud and then protested, "Dear gods, I can't afford the one I get now!"
*g* I'm pleased with the line. Also, The Oregonian called most of the extensions at our office trying to sell a paper and claiming they could not remove the block of numbers but would have to remove each one individually as a business. This is also the paper who told me repeatedly that I was getting a free subscription whether I wanted one or not at the old apartment (after I had been buried under one free subscription already). Scott and I only read about 5 pages of the paper between us, every third day, if it's delivered. Why would we want it?
At least this time they were polite about removing us. Last time, I had to descend to telling them that it wasn't my problem if they were too cheap to pay fees to have their garbage hauled away, I certainly wasn't going to be forced to do so by having it dumped on my doorstep.
Which is a bit harsh as they are not that bad of a paper, but I don't like people trying to force things on me. I get grouchy. Today reminded me of that when they called but, they were much more polite about this, and at least they did take each number off the list as they called it. *sigh*
