1. Explain why you started to journal/blog.

Why I started to journal, or why I brought it online? I've been writing a diary since I was very young and while I've stopped for years at a time, I've always come back to it. I love the dialog with self. As for bringing it online, some while ago, [livejournal.com profile] utsuri told me about a site she'd found (not this one) and I went and signed up.

Why? Because I love talking. I love it when people listen. I love grandstanding. And I still love the dialog with myself, if I don't happen to be interesting to anyone else.

As for why here, now, instead of that other site - friends' lists, communities, a handy desktop updater, no popup ads.... Big shock there, I'm sure. :)

2. Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not?

Yep! Before I switched to LiveJournal, I was emailing Dad a weekly set of entries. (I wasn't using the other site because it wasn't possible to make secured entries there, and you had to go straight to the person's page to use it - not very impressive.)

So when I switched over to LJ and got friends' pages, I basically badgered him into trying it. :) It seems to have worked, since he hasn't asked that we go back to email. My mother also reads my journal, but she hasn't got an account of her own. If any other family members are here, I'm not aware of it.

3. Do you have a theme for your journal/blog?

Not really. It's about my life and anything that happens to be on my mind. It seems like that's work a lot of times, but honest, that is not my "theme"! (Shoot me if I ever do that.)

4. What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year?

Well, I kind of favor the left-to-right reading order, top-to-bottom view it has now....

*ducks*

Okay, seriously? Not trying to direct this journal. It's a place for me to talk and share. I suppose, if I stipulate that it has to stay honest, that I'd like it to be a series of glowingly happy posts in the next year, but. :)

5. Pimp five of your favorite journals/blogs.

No. Go read my friends' list if you want to see who I like. I'm not going to try to pull five out of that group, I don't think it can be done except at random, they rock. :)
