...but it wasn't, even if it was pleasant. I read and re-read books. I played Dungeon Siege (and ended in a snit-fit because I got lost...again...and got frustrated...again...). I don't know why I keep trying computer games. I enjoy them when they are new, and I'm first learning them, but once I've gotten that far they are either too challenging or not challenging enough, generally, and at any rate are too single-focus for me to deal with (usually) in much the same way that TV is.

Dungeon Siege has, so far, been better. I enjoy it most of the time, although I often think that I am sort of wasting my time in it. Most of it is fairly linear - they tend to push you through certain paths, even if there are side-trips you can take. I like this, because the fact that you can't walk too far off the paths, means you don't get lost. I can get lost in real life if I wanted to do that, thankyouverymuch.

Guess who found the swamp tonight. I'm pretty sure I ran part of it backwards, or in a circle, or something. I definitely found myself going up the trail I'd come down on what I thought of as the way in (but I think I was already lost then...). Grrrrrr. Ah, well. I also saved right before I started in, in addition to the auto-save, so at least I should be able to go back and try again. After I, say, look up info on it on the web to make it something I can cope with.

Which will be after the worst of the bruises to my pride recover, thankyouverymuch.

Other than that, I really didn't get much done today. I didn't even go for a walk. Although I am, before I go to bed, taking the trash out. That's one task I'd rather not leave undone. :) But, yeah, other than that? Totally non-productive day. Pleasantly so except for the last 15-30 minutes of Dungeon Siege. I'll get over the snarlies from that. And meanwhile, Cold Fire? Excellent book. Excellent book. One protest: Young Adult fantasy novels should not give me shivers and make me wince.

That's a compliment to the book, after a fashion, but this is a book I should not have read while a young adult. Fortunately, I didn't. I rather liked it this time around, though I half-expected to have nightmares last night (I went to bed just after finishing a chapter from the 'villain' VPC - yes, she did, she used a villain for one of the viewpoint characters, which is cool, but I wasn't anticipating in that series - and it was seriously unnerving). Why I expected nightmares, I dunno; I never have nightmares. I didn't have nightmares after I totalled the VW Rabbit. (Of course, my waking thoughts were wince-worthy for a while, but....)
